Uluwatu Temple | Mythology

It is located on the very steep valley on the west of Pecatu Village, in the district of Kuta, Badung Regency, about 30 km from Denpasar and 25 km from Athena Garden Villa (Seminyak). It can be reached by any cars, the road are paved but rather steep.

Uluwatu temple perches at the south western tip of peninsula, where sheer cliffs drop precipitously into the clear blue sea - the temple hangs right over the edge! You enter it through an unusual arched gateway flanked by statues of Ganesha. Inside, the walls of coral bricks are covered with intricate carving of Bali’s mythological menageries. But the real attractions in the location - for a good angle, especially at sunset, walk around the cliff to the left (south) of the temple. Watch out for the local monkeys, which for some reason like to snatch spectacles and sunglasses, as well as handbags, hats and anything else they can get.

Uluwatu is one of the several important temples to the spirits of the sea to be found along the southern coast of Bali. Way back in the 11th century the Javanese priest Empu Kuturan first establish a temple here. The temple was added to by Nirartha, another Javanese priest who is known for seafront temples, like Tanah Lot, Rambut Siwi and Pura Sakenan. Nirartha retreated to Uluwatufor his final days, when he attained moksa, freedom from earthly desires.

Kuta - Legian | Beach

Including the two beach sites of Kuta and Legian, this area is a major draw card for travelers, offering cheap accommodation, western food, great shopping, surf, sunsets and riotous nightlife. Although it’s fashionable to disparage Kuta for its rampant development, low-brow nightlife and crass commercialism, the cosmopolitan mixture of beach-party hedonism and entrepreneurial energy can be exciting. It’s a tourist gold rush town with a get rich quick mentality and a planning horizon to match.

Hot Spring | Banjar

It is located at Banjar village, Banjar district, Buleleng regency, about 1,5 kilometers from the famous tourist resort Lovina or 24 kilometers from the closest city Singaraja.

It is supposed to be able to cure disease, so it is flown to a cute swimming pool. Surrounded by unique village nature near a Buddhist Temple. The hot spring are only a short distance west of the monastery. Eight carved sandstones Nagas spew water from a natural hot spring into the first bath, which then overflows (via the mouths of five more nagas), into a second larger pool. In a third pool, water pours from three meter-high spouts to give us a pummeling massage. The water is slightly sulphur and pleasantly hot, so you might enjoy it more in the morning or the evening than in the heat of the day. We must wear a swimsuit and you should not use soap in the pool. The whole area is beautifully landscaped with lush tropical plants.(Top Destination Bali)

Sunset On The Beach | Seminyak

The island’s beaches attract many humans from the planet Earth like no other. One may have the urge to go to the beach to sunbathe, surf, enjoy a typically Balinese ‘beach massage’, or just to sit on the sand and enjoy the view of orange “mango” sunset. One thing for sure is that the beach lure makes sure that the holiday visitors will not only enjoy but feel a different experience. Something beyond the sun, sand and surf … the beaches of Bali have cultural (if not spiritual) values that provides different sensualities. Even if visitor doesn’t get the chance to come across a ritual while on the beach, which is regularly carried out by the Balinese Hindus, he will feel such thins happen everyday.  Seminyak beach is only 10 minutes drive from Athena Garden Villa and it was perfect destination for couple or visitor to feel the atmosphere.
